My only criticism of this guide is really just a small point - that is, as much as I know the author wants to promote good nutrition, there really isn’t any section devoted to modern lifestyle choices you can make while at work or on the road. 

It would be great to have some backup options such as fast food alternatives or less expensive non-organic market choices. Trying to get organic food or plan out our lunches at work is difficult for many of us with busy lives. It would have been nice to see a section of some options for those on the run. However, that kind of planning is really something you can easily develop on your own using this guide.

All in all this is a highly recommended dieting guide – it focuses on balanced foods, nutrition, and proper health to lose weight naturally. As always, no diet is guaranteed - and it is up to you to keep on track to get the benefits.

Have You Ever Been Compounded By Fatigue

This morning was a beautiful time to run in Moline,IL. It was sunny 55 degrees with a nice breeze. I jogged over to the high school track for my Tuesday morning track workout. I was planning to increase my workout by one more repetition. The first rep of the 12×400 workout with a 200 jog went beautifully. My legs felt bouncy and my breathing was in control. I checked my watch and I noticed that I was about 5 seconds fast. So I thought to myself “better slow down a bit on the second rep”. I proceeded to jog the 200m recovery and get ready for my second repetition. I started the second repetition and I noticed that things did not feel right, I was struggling. What in the world was going on?

I’ll take you back a couple of days. Saturday I ran a 4 mile race in Galesburg,IL. The course was hilly but I still ran great. I hydrated properly and used proper sports nutrition following my cool down jog. I drove back to Moline,Il for a good lunch.

Saturday night I went to bed early and slept in on Sunday morning. I wanted to be well rested for Sundays 15 mile over distance run. Sunday was a great day to run sunny and 60 degrees. I completed the run with the normal effort. I ate and drank properly to recover from this day.

Monday I took the day off. I felt a little sore in the morning so I used the foam roller to aid in my recovery. I felt a lot better by the end of the day. Spent the rest of the day relaxing and paying attention to hydrating and eating with endurance nutrition in mind.

I would like to call what happened to me today Compounded Fatigue. Three things occurred each compounding upon the other. First I ran a race Saturday. Second I ran a 15 mile over distance run on Sunday. Third I did not properly hydrate this morning.

The solution to this problem is to allow one more rest day after Sunday’s over distance run. Even after following strictly to proper sports nutrition, hydration, and rest. The compounding of fatigue that occurred to me this weekend caused this bad workout.
